Who do you think will win ?

Mc Cain Vs. Barack Obama

This election is different from the ones in the past; also, We have old and young candidates. of course this old candidate has experience from the past, while this young candidate has more current experience. When I look at John Mc Cain, I see the past, incarnate, the nature of the past is to be known, and to be unchangeable. i cannot look at John Mc Cain and feel like i can expect anything new from him. The times we are living are unprecedented this is no longer the American century. The peak of America's power and influence was world wars two; everything has been pretty much down hill from there. If America were to rouse itself again, as it did then, perhaps it could once again bestide the world like a colossus; but we have become a little people, and the wars we have fought since 1945 have served only to humiliate us; we stand in danger of being eclipsed by the masses of Asia. We have spent the past eight years watching our " leaders" try to cope with new world by using old tactics, os strategses, old idea; they have failed, The "known" the " past", is not working anymore.

The future is, by definition, unknown, until it becomes the present. Barack Obama is the future incarnate. people can probably guess at what kind of a president John Mc Cain would be; but obama is a question mark, as is the future itself.

In the usual course of America politics, if the democratic presidental candidate was a white male, I would expect him to win the election. The Republicans are out of favor with the voters, after nearly a decade of Busch/Cheney bumbling, tumbling and grumbling. again, this is where obama is a question mark: he is African-American and that brings an unpredictable element into this election. He can presumably count on the " black" vote; but what about the other elements in the coalition of democratic voters ? female democrats are angry that he beat Hillary Clinton; will they stay home on election day ? will blue-collar urban white voters vote for a black man? will Jewish voters ? This is the unknown factor that upsets the traditional coalition of democrats. This is going to be an interesting election.
