We often hear such words in the Philippines but what is really meant by " American Dream" ?The American dream embodies hope for a better life for one self and one's children. since the United States came into existence, it has been as a land of opportunity by countless immigrants from all over the world. the American dream is largely one of middle-class material existence: beautiful house,car, appliances, food in abudance, and the benefits of education for oneself and/or one's children. The American dream can come true for some immigrants, if they work hard enought for it; some are successful, some are not, and for others it is " just ok" This type of hope and ambition is not only to be found in America; it is possible for people to achieve it in thier own homeland also.

very well said, lorn...american dreams depend on how people work and earn it here in the land of milk and honey...now, if some people are too lazy and just dreaming without actions, then it's no longer an american dream but a terrible nigthmare....LOL!

lol maski gani ako usahay makatawa nalang gani ko sa akong tinobagan pagka human nako og post. pero dala ra sad to sa akong kalagot nga sarcastic ko nga manubag.ambot lang ba kaha kong nakasabot ba gyud kaha to sila sa boot nako ipasabot. pero abi nimo tinood man sad nga gi incresan na daw sa goberno ang minimum wage.

bitaw oy, di naman sad maayu nga i down na lang jud tanan ang mga filipino...kay di baya tanan pobre ugf deperado ang mga tao sa atoa...naa pa bayay nabilin sad..di lang tananon kay mo disagree na jud ko...
tapos, wa daw educational grants and loans ang pinas...naunsa ba...kung wala, ngano daghan man edukado ng pinoy maskig pobre...lol! naunsa...looya sa atong pinas oy...gi ayo-ayo na jud ug look down...
